Second freedom struggle to continue till corruption ends:Hazare

Gandhian and anti-graft activist Anna Hazare, who will take up a one day fast at Jantar Mantar in Delhi tomorrow demanding the introduction of a stronger Lok Pal bill in the parliament, said today the government is intoxicated with power and warned the UPA government the second fight for independence would continue till corruption is thrown out from the country.

Addressing a media conference at his native village Ralegan Siddhi near Pune before leaving for Delhi for tomorrow’s fast, the protagonist of anti corruption said the fight for second independence has just begun and many people would have to sacrifice their lives and some have to go to jail before the result is achieved.

“We won’t get the right independence unless we sacrifice with gusto,” he said. Hazare will sit on fast tomorrow along with his supporters demanding a strong anti-corruption law.

Hazare said that the leaders in the government have forgotten the sacrifices made by the likes of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru. “Like a drunken man, the government is unconscious and we have to bring it to normal senses,” he said. (JUBS)
