Bihar CM is back on track in showing his political acumen, particularly against Modi. After sailing a comfortable trust vote, Nitish called for a state wide protests and agitations against the Modi government’s Land Acquisition Bill. Nitish on Saturday started his 24-hour fast as a token of protest against the bill.
Party leaders, workers also joined the protest fast in JD(U) office premises, in his brief speech Nitish condemned the bill and asked the center not to go further on it. He accused that it is pro-corporate and anti-farmer bill which keeps livelihood of three-fourth of Indian population at stake. He referred it as ‘Black law’ and demanded for immediate scrap.
He extended his support to the Anna Hazare agitation over the law and called for a nation- wide movement in order to stop the government not to step forward. Political analysts feel that Nitish tactically used the issue to gain the support of farmers, who are crucial in upcoming Assembly elections.
Let’s see how the BJP will respond to it..
