Sending the morale of the YSR Congress president Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy to the lowest ebb, his so called loyalist MLAs had bluntly told him they would not support the no-confidence motion proposed to be tabled by the TDP in the ensuing winter session of the assembly.
The sudden change in the stance of the MLAs, who supported him to the core till a few days ago, came as a shock to Jagan.
The MLAs numbering around 21, who met on Thursday at his Lotus Pond’s residence in Hyderabad in his absence, asked him over phone not to expect them to support the no-confidence motion.
The meeting was arranged by hard core Jagan loyalists YV Subba Reddy and Ramakrishna reddy in the absence of Jagan who was in Guntur district conducting his usual Odarpu Yatra. When Jagan requested them over phone to make an announcement in favour of the no-confidence motion to be tabled by the TDP in the assembly, majority of the MLAs told him they would lose their assembly membership through that announcement. “That is not acceptable to us,” they made it clear to him.
They also told him that they are losing their influence in their respective constituencies for being branded as the Jagan loyalists and developmental activities are taking a back seat. “The congress is going ahead with the appointment of in charges giving us problems,” they told him, adding they were not in a position to support the no confidence motion.
