With the state congress leadership taking a firm decision to disqualify the 16 congress MLAs from the assembly for defying the whip during the voting on the no-confidence motion, new ticket aspirants are getting enthusiastic in various constituencies and waiting with bated breath for the party decision.
Once the congress party leadership lodges a complaint with the Speaker Nadendla Manohar against those who defied the whip and the Speaker takes action, by elections will be held in all the 16 constituencies.
If the PRP leadership lodges complaint against its lone member Sobha Nagi Reddy who defied the whip, her constituency also will go to by poll.
In addition to the 17 constituencies, by-polls will also be held in another 7 constituencies which have no representation in the assembly due to resignations by members for various reasons including the cause of Telangana.
With most of the ministers, CM Kirankumar reddy and PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana deciding in favour of disqualifying the 17 members at a single go, the rivals to those who defied the whip and some new ticket-aspirants in the congress party in those constituencies are expecting the leadership’s decision as soon as possible on the disqualification so that they can prepare for the by elections.
The aspirants have already begun their lobbying with the congress leadership for tickets in those constituencies. (JUBS)
