16 rebel congress MLAs, who voted in favour of the TDP’s no confidence motion in the assembly, today urged the Speaker Mr Nadendla Manohar to disqualify them en masse from the assembly.
In a letter submitted to the Speaker in his chamber, the MLAs owing allegiance to the YSR Congress party president YS Jaganmohan reddy requested him to disqualify them from the assembly at one go.
Earlier, the MLAs discussed the issue at their meeting and decided to meet the Speaker with the request to disqualify them for violating the whip.
After the meeting, pro-Jagan MLA M. Chandrasekhara reddy told journalists that they were ready to face the by elections as their decision was appreciated by the people in their respective constituencies.
“People are ready to get us elected on the YSR Congress tickets and the Speaker should take the decision now on our disqualification,” he said. “We are all united on the issue and all of us are seeking disqualification as we are confident of easy victory.”
Along with Chandrasekhar reddy, Dharmana Krishna Das, Sobha Nagi reddy, Balineni Srinivasa reddy and others met the Speaker and submitted the letter which sought immediate disqualification. (JUBS)
