Supreme Court seals Naidu & Co’s fate, on similar lines of Jagan

The witty TDP leader was out classed by the Supreme Court which wanted the SLP’s to be filled in the state.
This week was visibly bad for the Telugu Desam Party Chief Chandrababu Naidu, first on Monday, he was shunned by the Andhra Pradesh High Court which ordered a CBI inquiry against him. Later his clever ploy to depute, his co-victims to apply at the Supreme Court coupling with his good offices at the Nation’s Capital, also faced the similar fate, on Wednesday. The Supreme Court declined to stay the High Court’s order. But a small respite to the troubled leader was though the SLPs were dismissed, they were given liberty to file applications for vacating the interim order in the High Court. The High Court was inturn asked to dispose of such applications within 15 days. So probe on Mr. Naidu and Co becomes inevitable on the given grounds.
A detailed analysis at the court was when senior counsel for the petitioners Uday Lalit and Anil Divan said the High Court had passed the interim order directing CBI probe without giving any notice, senior counsel Ram Jethmalani, appearing for Y.S. Vijayamma, respondent in this case said there was no need for giving such notice. Mr. Jethmalani, the Council for Vijayamma (wife of former Chief Minister, the Late Dr Y S Rajasekara Reddy) argued that there was `no error in law, as the High Court had not directed that a case should be registered.’ He said the High Court after going through voluminous materials had only asked the CBI to conduct a preliminary enquiry and submit a report in three months.
Meanwhile the rival party TRS reacted strongly saying that SC direction is a blow to Naidu. "Naidu will be proved guilty in the illegal assets case. The SC rejection to provide stay on CBI inquiry in itself is a big blow to Naidu. His true colours will come out soon," remarked party MLA K Taraka Rama Rao.
It may be noted petitioners and co-accused, Eenadu group chairman Ch Ramoji Rao, Madhucon group of companies chairman Nama Nageshwara Rao, Ritvik group of companies managing director C M Ramesh and Sujana group chairman Y S Chowdary sought stay on the probe, contending that the high court had not given them notices and that it had not heard their arguments before ordering the CBI probe.
Well it’s Mr. Naidu’s turn to hear the music played by the CBI, after the YSR Congress leader Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. With mounting crisis and with his anti-corruption crusade the political fate of the leader much depends on the results of the probe.
