The winter session of the Lok Sabha began on a noisy note today forcing the Speaker Ms Meira Kumar to adjourn the proceedings first till 12 noon and then till tomorrow.
While the Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day after the usual obituary references, BJP members in the Lok Sabha objected to the Home Minister P. Chidambaram answering the questions during the question hour.
While the members of the Shiva Sena raised the issue of remunerative prices for the agricultural produce, TRS members and the congress members of the T region raised the issue of Telangana and demanded the introduction of Telangana bill.
Members from these parties demanded discussion on various issues through adjournment motions. While TRS leader Mr KCR served a notice for discussion on Telangana, TDP MP Mr Nama Nageswara rao gave notice for discussion on price rise. The Speaker rejected all these notices.
BSP members, on their part, raised slogans demanding 10 per cent reservation for Muslims. The din started soon after the obituary references.
During the adjournment, T congress MPs held a demonstration out side the parliament house holding placards and demanding introduction of T bill in parliament.
BJP-led NDA, which said that it would boycott Chidambaram alleging his involvement in the 2G scam, objected to his answering a question on Maoists and demanded his resignation.
With the uproar continuing over the political situation in Uttar Pradesh and various other issues, including Telangana, the Speaker first adjourned the House till 12 noon but soon after it assembled at 12 noon, the same noisy scenes prevailed with Shiva Sena-BJP, Left and members from Telangana region trooping into the Well and raising slogans.(JUB)
