IT man asked to run after Jagan to serve notices
The judge of special CBI court in Hyderabad Mr Naga Maruthi Sarma on Monday directed the Bangalore IT officials to set a special messenger on the run to keep track of the YSR Congress chief Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy and serve notices on him on collecting information from the CBI.
The judge gave this direction to the IT officials when they said Jagan could not be contacted at his residence many a time as he was touring the districts. The court asked the IT officials to send a special messenger to follow Jagan and serve the notices personally to him after they informed the judge that neither Jagan was present in his house nor has his counsel accepted the notices on his behalf.
The court was hearing a petition by the IT officials of Bangalore who sought the copies of files and documents seized from him by the CBI during its raids in the illegal properties case registered against him. IT officials said they wanted the copies to finish the assessment of his properties for calculating the tax payable by him.
During the hearing on Monday, the CBI officials said they had no objection to share the information and hand over the copies to the IT department but Jagan’s counsel objected to this saying that CBI could not give the copies of the documents to them with out serving notices on Jagan.
Meanwhile, the Income-Tax department of AP has also filed petitions in the CBI Court seeking copies of the documents seized by the CBI during its raids on Jagan’s properties indicating the same purpose as mentioned by the Bangalore IT in their petitions.
Court will take up both petitions tomorrow for further hearing.
