Will CBI spring a surprise tomorrow when it grills YSR Congress chief Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy in the illegal mining case registered against Obulapurm Mining Company (OMC) and its owner Gali Janardhan reddy for illegal mining?
CBI asked the YSR Congress chief Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy to appear before it at 10 AM on Friday for questioning him in the illegal mining case.
Speculation in political circles is rife that CBI may surprise everybody by arresting Jagan on Friday as part of the on-going probe into the illegal mining case.
CBI joint director VV Lakshminarayana is known for causing surprises as proved by his act in arresting Gali Janardhan reddy and his brother-in-law Srinivasa reddy on Sep 5 in the most dramatic manner at Bellary when the entire attention of the media and political circles was on Jagan after the investigating agency registered cases against him following the HC orders.
For the last few days, there was a lull in the investigation in the case registered against Jagan for allegedly possessing illegal wealth. Political circles are of the view that CBI may spring a surprise by arresting Jagan in the Gali case while the probe in his own case is still progressing at a snail’s pace.
Media reports said that Jagan owned shares in the Red Gold company founded by Gali Janardhan reddy and that funds were transferred to the Red Gold from the Gali-owned Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) through hawala routes in Mauritius and some other countries.
It might be mentioned that Jagan had asserted in a media conference in Delhi two months ago he had nothing to do with Gali Janardhan reddy. “I don’t have any sort of relation with him,” he told journalists soon after his arrest on Sept 5.
Sources said CBI has established that Gali Janardhan reddy had business dealings with Jagan and wanted to question him as part of the probe being conducted by it in the illegal mining case and against Gali.
