The AP High Court today issued notices to the YSR Congress party president Mr YS Jaganmohan Reddy on the illegal wealth he had reportedly accumulated during his late father YSR’s regime in the state.
The court ordered notices to him after admitting a PIL filed by a lawyer KK Sherwani of Kadapa district on the alleged illegal wealth of Jagan.
The court ordered notices to be sent to the CAG, SEBI Chairman, CEC, CBI, Chief Secretary of the State Government, ACB, Jagan-owned companies Bharathi Cements and Jagathi Publications and industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad.
The petitioner alleged that the late YSR and his son Jagan resorted to misuse of power and allotted lands to different companies in the state and got huge investments in return into their companies from them. The late YSR allotted lands to SEZs and issued mining licenses to various companies at his will and pleasure with ulterior motives and purely for protecting his son’s selfish interests, the petitioner alleged in the PIL.
The petitioner requested the court to order investigations into the allegations and direct the Central Election Commission to debar Jagan from contesting the future elections if the allegations are proved.
