Petty issue creates tension between settlers, locals

fightAn argument over a petty issue between a local woman and a Seema Andhra man led to tension for a while in the village Gumnapur in Varni mandal of Nizamabad district on Monday.

Sathi Reddy of Krishna district, who settled down in the village, ran into an argument with Katta Lakshmi over an issue. In the course of the arguments, Sathi Reddy was reported to have abused the woman and made come objectionable comments over the Telangana issue.

Lakshmi met the local JAC leaders and complained against Sathi Reddy and two others who also belonged to the Seema Andhra area. Lakshmi told the JAC leaders Lachanna and Sai Reddy had supported Sathi Reddy in using abusive words against her.

The JAC leaders detained Lachanna and Sai Reddy leading to tension and on hearing the news police had rushed to the spot. The JAC leaders refused to release the two demanding that Sathi Reddy must be arrested first. But police convinced them into releasing them.

The villagers later attacked Sathi Reddy’s house and destroyed furniture and other materials.  Police booked cases against the trio of Seema Andhra area.
