The bold promises of the TRS leaders, main protagonists of the Telangana state, on the safety of the lives of the Seema Andhra people and their properties in Hyderabad in the event of a division of the state are evaporating into thin air even before the formation of Telangana.
An incident in the recently launched Telugu daily Namaste Telangana owned by persons spearheading the T cause proves this beyond doubt.
It is true that there is a complete divide between the people of the Seema Andhra region and those of Telangana thanks to the Telangana agitation but the divide is only limited to verbal war between the two sections.
Fortunately, a dangerous situation has not yet developed wherein T persons must avoid Seema Andhra people when they bump into each other.
People of the two regions are still on good talking terms, one feels for sure. And in several organizations and work places in Hyderabad, thousands of Telangana people and Seema Andhra people are still working together in harmony.
However, the case is different in Namaste Telangana where the organization is totally dominated by the presence of Telangana people. In an awkward incident, the appointment of a Hyderabad-settled Oriya person in the sub-regional Telugu daily’s marketing department drew the ire of the rest of the employees.

Presuming that the Oriya person hailed from the Seema Andhra region, the other employees of the daily, all of them being Telangana persons, protested and made a hue and cry over his appointment. They obviously thought that a person from the Seema Andhra region had trespassed into their fiefdom promoting sub-regionalism.
Since the employees regarded his appointment as a crime and questioned it, the senior people in the marketing department had to give a lengthy explanation to convince the Telangana employees that the person actually hailed from Orissa and not from Seema Andhra region.
The T employees stopped protesting over his appointment after being convinced that the person was not from the Seema Andhra region. Observers point out the incident may be a rare one but it surely indicates the impatience of the Telangana people for continuing their peaceful co-existence with their Seema Andhra brothers and sisters.
It is anybody’s guess to think of what would have happened to him if he were really to be a Seema Andhra person.
It might be mentioned that Mr KCR and his party leaders have been making announcements day in and day out that they would protect the lives and properties of the Seema Andhra people if Telangana is formed and no one should entertain doubts on that count.
However, the incident proves that TRS promises can’t be taken for granted and surely a question mark now hangs on the safety of the lives and properties of Seema Andhra people. Can any one deny this?
