‘Didi’ Mamatha Baneejee, who led the Trinamool-congress combine to victory in the Left ‘Didi’ Mamatha Baneejee, who led the Trinamool-congress combine to victory in the Left dominated West Bengal, said today that democracy has won in the assembly elections.
“It is a victory for the democracy,” she said in an instant message after hearing that the combine has been racing ahead in the election results.
Mamatha thanked congress president Sonia Gandhi for the alliance and the constant support extended by her during the campaigning. “We are humbled,” said Didi emotionally in her message.
The TMC-congress combine has been leading in 215 seats while the Left Front has established a lead in 70 seats when reports last came in.
