Denying that she has become a stumbling block to the creation of Telangana state, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamatha Banerjee said she has a solution ready for the Telangana issue and offered to reveal it to the UPA government at the appropriate time.

 

Speaking to the national media for the first time in Delhi Tuesday evening after taking over as the chief minister of West Bengal, Mamatha said she has alternative solutions to the demands of separate state of Telangana and other regions in the country.

Taking pride of her finding solution to the 15-year old Gorkhaland issue immediately after taking over as the new chief minister, Mamatha said the Gorkhaland Janamukti Morcha had dropped the demand for separate state after she had offered greater autonomy and a vibrant financial package. “Even Telangana can find a solution in such a package,” she said going further.

When asked for details of such a package, the witty didi simply said she loved the people of Andhra and Telangana and their idli and sambar adding that the people of the state are capable of finding solution to the lingering issue.

Dwelling at length about the solution she found for the Gorkhaland issue, Mamatha said the agitators had asked for separate state but she had given them a Switzerland indicating she had given them more than what they sought.
