The CBI on Wednesday gave clean chit to former Gujarat Minister and Narendra Modi's close aide Amit Shah in Ishrat Jahan encounter case.

The CBI stated in its report submitted to the special court that it did not find any substantial evidence against Amit Shah and former DGP KR Kaushik in the encounter case.

This is only a bit of relief to the BJP general secretary as he is an accused in Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case. Amit Shah was arrested by CBI in 2010 and is currently out on bail since the last couple of years.
