The Union Minister for Law and Justice Kapil Sibal says that the Snoopgate is a National issue and the Government will take up the inquiry but not the Gujarat Government as the Gujarat State's Chief Minsiter Narendra Modi is involved in it.

Kapil Sibal says that the inquiry by the Modi’s appointed committee will be like the old Nanavati Commission appointed to probe Gujarat riots which could not submit its report in spite of 20 extensions in 11 years.

Sibal wonders that it is a non bailable case as per BJP senrior leader and Rajyasabha opposition leader Sushma Swaraj when the call details obtained pertains to BJP leader Arun Jaitely and now BJP keeps silent when it comes to Modi’s snooping on a woman.

Kapil Sibal reiterated that the BJP should rethink about its PM’s candidate.  It should not be the one who is involved in snooping!

BJP accepted that the movements of the girl were monitored using Government resources but at the behest of the girl’s father to give her security because of which it is not a violation of the rules. But the explanation leaves a key question unanswered what was the need for such an extensive tracking, tailing and snooping if a security for a girl was the purpose?

Leaving the facts aside, the allegation on Modi at this time when the elections are ahead is a jolt for BJP and something to worry about.
