Sanjay Dutt has been the center of the media attention ever since the supreme court has proclaimed him guilty for the possession of the illegal weapons and ordered that he be imprisoned for five years giving him a grace period of one month to court arrest.
Sanjay Dutt despite receiving several petitions in his favor seeking clemecy has maintained that he would not seek pardon. In fact today he made an announcement that he would surrender on April 18 and meanwhile he would attend to the unfinished business on "several sets".
His date of surrender only means more worry for film makers who have signed him on. They have 12 days which have to be divided between all of them to finish the movies. Hectic schedule would be an understating term to describe the current situations.
Shooting for all films is one part and dubbing for them would be the extra time consuming session especially since there is a time constraint. He has decided that all shootings will conclude on 13th and that the dubbings will begin immediately and end on 17th finally.
Currently working on Rajkumar Hirani's sets of PK, and with more than a few days of work, it is obscure whether he can finish the works well before deadlines. Raj Gupta is safe since the actor has already drawn out of his movie Ghanchakkar, where he was offered a guest role. Zanjeer featuring Ram Charan Tej and Dutt in opposite roles has already finished shooting giving Apoorva Lakhia a breather.
Policegiri, directed by TP Agarwal is the most active set where Dutt has a few scenes to shoot. Karan Johar's Ungli has a few scenes missing and would be finishing the schedules pretty soon.
"There are many other people who deserve pardon. I want to tell the honourable citizens of the country that when I am not going for pardon, then there can be no debate about it", a sensitive Dutt said talking about seeking pardon. He has another 3 and half years of prison to be served for his involvement in the 1993 Mumbai blasts with possession of illegal weapons.
