US Law Makers urge 'no visa' to Modi

The saffron party had completed all formalities in posing, the Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi as the prime minister candidate for the 2014 elections. However the leader seems to face reluctance from unexpected quarters.

According to sources nearly 25 US law makers have urged the US secretary of state, Hillary Clinton 'not to issue US visa.' The saffron leader will feel miserable over the present development, as he would have to meet the various global leaders in his pursuit to seek their continued patronage.

However the law makers were against the entry of Modi due to his alleged involvement in the communal riots in 2002. They expressed that by allowing him into US would only prove his innocence on gross human rights violations that occured during the riots. They also added that sufficient justice was not meted out to the victims, by the state.

The letter was revealed by the Congressman Joe Pitts and Frank Wolf. The duo would be holding a joint press conference in expressing their solidarity with the victims in the riots, along with them at the Capital Hill.

On the other hand, the revolt by the US was not new to the saffron leader who faced a similar situation when President Bush was heading the US. He was denied the US visa then under the authority of the International Religious Freedom Act for his complicity in the riots.

Will the Obama minsitry bow to their pressure? How will Modi and BJP largely deal in the given situation? Only time wil reveal the truth... (Wishesh- AarKay)
