Jammu-Srinagar National highway closed to traffic on Saturday

Landslides which followed the heavy rains have led to the closure of the Jammu-Srinagar National highway on Saturday. The rains in the Ramban district had caused the block to affect over 200 vehicles which have been stranded.

There were landslides at Maroog, Sri and Ramban areas after the regions registered heavy rains which are still unabated, officials said.

Border Road Organisation (BRO) has tried to clear the roads with the help of man force and machine power but all efforts are in vain as the rains are making the task difficult.

More than 200 vehicles have been left stranded at different places on the highway due to the wrath of the landslides.

Jammu had been hit by heavy rains which had lowered the high humid conditions in the regions to the relief of the locals.
