Pakistan says findings of commission that visited India are illegal

The court of Pakistan, which hosts the trials for the suspects involved in the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai, has said that the findings of the commission that visited India are illegal.

Seven suspects involved in the terror attacks of Mumbai on 26/11 who are in the trial include the senior commander of the Lashkar- e- Toiba, Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi. In this ghastly and tragic incident over 166 people were killed in Mumbai.

The court has said that the report from the commission is not proper evidence that can be used the accused in the 26/11 incident. The 8 membererd commission had come to Mumbai in March but was not allowed to interrogate Kasab, the lone survivor among the terrorists involved in the killings who was captured alive. They recorded the magistrates comments and documented it. They also performed autopsies on the 9 terrorists who were dead.

The defence lawyers had expressed their views to the court saying that the commission's mission was futile as no cross examination was conducted. They also have proposed that another commission be sent to the country after obtaining a permission from the Indian Government for a cross-examinaion.

India has already declared that Ajmal Kasab is not to meet any Pakistani Officials. India has pressurized Pakistan to expedite the procedures, which are now at a snail's pace and yet ineffective, for the trial of those accused and now in India's custody.
