The doctors in Betul of Madhya Pradesh have successfully performed a rare surgery and separated conjoined twins after a 12-hour-long surgery. As many as 34 medical experts from India and abroad joined their hands and saved the life of two children. The twins were one-year-old and were joined at heart and liver.
The operation has begun at sharp 9 AM on Wednesday and concluded at 9 PM. The twin sisters were taken into the operation theatre at 8 AM. The operation was carried out at Missionary Hospital and Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid Rs. 20 lakh from Chief Minister's discretionary fund towards the expensive surgery.
The hospital superintendent has expressed his happiness over the success of surgery. The twins—Stuti and Aradhna are now in ICU. Since the story of twins and the surgery was aired on televisions, people in Madhya Pradesh reportedly prayed for the twins. In fact, a large number of people, all of them strangers, gathered outside the hospital while the operation was underway.
