Much before Pranab Mukherjee resigned as the finance minister, NCP leader P A Sangma, who is also in presidential race, has resigned for the party to file nomination for President's post. It is known that NCP warned Sangma of disciplinary action if he files nomination for President's post. So, the leader, who is determined to become the President, said good bye to the party.
He resigned to the party after Janata Party president, Subramanian met him and extended his support for his candidature. Sangma said Tribal Forum of India wanted to see him as the President and he cannot ignore the feeling of tribals. He has also said that Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalitha and Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik have supported him.
