9-yr-old, cell-photographer unravels mysterious burglar

Presence of mind of a nine year old kid in Mumbai helps the Mumbai police unravel the mystery in a burglary case. Kids generally wield their mobile phone to play games, but this kid was a shutterbug by nature. The police received a complaint from Somdev Lodaya that cash and valuables worth Rs 5.6 lakh had gone missing from his house in Sukesh Apartment on the Valji-Lodha Road near Hira-Mungi hospital in Mulund (West).

The clueless investigations began when the police reached the apartments and made preliminaries at the occupants of the buildings. The laundry owner inside the compound told that one man was moving suspiciously on that day and he had chided him, later he went away. But then a kid came running over and said that he had taken the photos of the man. Police took out prints of the photo and started scanning the old files for resemblances. The efforts ultimately led them to Rashid Kupe, the accused. Cops revealed that Kupe, who had burgled six to seven residences, was arrested after the boy spotted him peeping into the flat and snapped photographs of him as evidence.

Mobile phone manufacturers could use this as a commercial to boost their sales. Kudos to the presence of mind of the brilliant boy!!!
