Pak fires at Indian troops, India retaliates

Violating the ceasefire agreement with India, the Pakistani troops on Sunday opened fire on Indian troops in the Karnah area of Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Indian army officers said today the fire was retaliated by the Indian troops. “The Pak troops started firing at 5 pm in the evening and immediately the Indian troops returned the fire,” army officers said, adding that the exchange of fire took place along the LoC off 140 km from Srinagar.

The army said a mosque was partially damaged in the fire. “It is the first cease fire violation by Pakistan in the last three months,” they said. (JUBS)
