4 injured in express-goods train collision

4 persons were injured in an express-goods rail collision in the wee hours of Wednesday in Odisha. The injured were rushed to the local railway hospital. Officials said the accident was of small nature.

The accident occurred when Koraput-Howrah Samaleswari Express collided with a goods train at Jharsuguda railway station. Both the trains moved on the same track due to a signal overshoot, railway officials said.

The accident occurred hardly a day after the Howrah-Dehradun Express caught fire near Nimiaghat Railway station in Giridih district of Jharkhand killing seven persons Tuesday night.

Samaleswari Express left for its destination after a halt of seven hours due to the accident, according to railway officials.(JUBS)
