The AIADMK regime, led by the chief minister J. Jayalalitha, has been continuing with the arrests of DMK leaders who were allegedly involved in land grabbling cases.
In the latest crackdown, two DMK leaders of Erode were today arrested by the police for indulging in acts of land grabbing. The police arrested Erode Mayor Kumar Murugesh and former DMK minister NKKP Raja and sent them to jail.
The arrests followed the suspension of Chennai top cop Mr Sait Jaffar who was allegedly involved in a land allotment scam. Former minister, Veerapandi S Arumugam and MLA, Mr J Anbazhagan were the first to be arrested few days ago for their involvement in land grabbing cases.
Meanwhile, former chief minister Karunanidhi alleged that the AIADMK regime was indulging in revenge politics and described the arrests as politically motivated.
