The 2G Spectrum scam, which has shaken the country to the core, has claimed its first victim. Mr .Sadiq Batcha, an aide of the tainted former communications Minister Mr A. Raja, the main accused in the 2G Spectrum scam, allegedly committed suicide in Chennai today.

Police said doctors of a private hospital had declared Batcha ‘brought dead’ to the hospital by his family members this morning.

Special CBI teams interrogated Batcha several times in the past three weeks in connection with the 2G Spectrum scam. It may be mentioned the CBI today informed the Supreme Court that it would file a charge sheet against Raja on March 31 and a subsidiary charge sheet later on against others involved in the scam.
