Powerstar Pawan Kalyan is unstoppable. His Attariniki Daredi has broken all time Tollywood records as the highest grosser in the first week. AD earned Rs 35 crores in AP, breaking local records, and Rs 49 Crores from worldwide collections. This makes the movie the record holder as the highest grossing Telugu movie worldwide in a single week.
While AD rages on at the box office, Tamil actor Vijay is showing interest in acting in the Tamil remake of Attarintiki Daredi. Makers of AD have reportedly received several interested hints for a possible remake in Tamil. Vijay has, until now, acted in several Telugu film remakes including Mahesh Babu's Okkadu and Pokiri.
As the discussions happen, other filmmakers are very afraid for their own films. No, it's not competition from AD they are afraid of, but the risk of piracy that is still very much real. Powerstar's religious fan following and the film's entertainment quotient allowed AD to break out of the piracy shackles. But any other film may not have such admiration and luck for immediate action and box office success. So, all those with high stakes in upcoming films are keeping their eyes open and prints closely guarded.
Critics from all over, especially Bollywood, are heaping praises on the movie. On an average, Attarintiki Daredi received a solid 3.75 rating. Most reviewers have awarded Pawan's film with 4 stars out of 5. If there are any loopholes, its clean entertainment masked all of them. Of all the complements, Pawan Kalyan's performance was appreciated the most.
