
In spite of stiff reluctance from a few distributors over a DTH release the Viswaroopam filmmaker Dr Kamal Hassan has gone ahead with a contest on DTH.
The contest is participants must make a short film of sixty seconds like a documentary highlighting the pros of a film being aired on DTH. Rather about the advantages of a DTH. The best film would be selected by none other than the veteran himself. Viswaroopam slated for release on January 11 will have it aired a day before on DTH.
According to sources, the veteran seems to be keen on the proposal in spite of resistance from many. The cost of the DTH view would be Rs 1000. And two renowned names in the DTH industry seemed to have bid the film for Rs 50 crores Kamal's magnum opus film had cost a fortune, roughly the budgets are pegged at Rs 150 crores.
