T – Town Director Puri Jagannath, is definitely known for his directorial skills. Who can forget the block buster film in the entire career of Prince Mahesh Babu, with the film ‘Pokiri’, that is none other than Puri’s directorial. But, post ‘Pokiri’, till his recent T – Town release, ‘Nenu Na Raakshasi’, Puri has not given any successful film. Be it, ‘Ek Niranjan’, ‘Neninthe’, ‘Bujjigadu’ or ‘Nenu Na Raakshasi’, all these turned out to be below average films at the box office. But, out of all these films, Puri’s ‘Golimaar’, starring Gopi Chand was a savior.
The Director, who has made his B – Town debut directing Amitabh in ‘Buddah Hoga Tera Baap’, that is earning good reviews, admits that he has made some ‘bad’ films in his entire career as a director. Puri says, he was stuck up in some financial crises all these years, and this is a reason, he was out of his mind while directing these films. Since, he is free from all the debts now, Puri is confident that his forthcoming film with Mahesh, ‘The Businessman’, will turn out to be a definite success.
We do admit that ‘The Businessman’ could be a success and also agree that Puri is fair enough to confess his mistakes, but what about all those film makers and distributors, who incurred a huge loss, in producing and distributing the so called flop films of Puri?
