Super star Rajanikanth’s blockbuster movie ‘Robot’ retains the record of collecting the highest revenue in the history of the Indian cinema. It could perhaps be even the highest collector in the Asian movie industry.
Sun TV network’s third quarterly financial results show that the ‘Robot’, which was released in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu world wide on October 1 last, has collected more than Rs.375 Cr at the box office.
Sun TV network financial statements confirm the abnormal increase in the net profit of the company by 48 per cent to reach a whopping Rs.225 Cr to the out and out success of the ‘Robot’ movie which was made with a budget of Rs.132 Cr.
The statements said the collections in the first week itself touched Rs.117 Cr as it was screened in 1400 theatres in Tamil Nadu alone, in addition to another 1000 theatres across the world.
