Veteran Mani Ratnam’s latest multi-lingual film featuring Tollywood prince Mahesh Babu is tilted ‘Veerudu’ in Telugu. While it is ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ in Tamil, the makers have yet to give a title to the movie in Hindi.
Sources close to Mani Ratnam said that efforts are on to register the title ‘Veerudu’ in Telugu which is arrived at after a lot of dilly-dallying and considering several other titles.
The historical movie, to be based on the epic novel ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ by well known author Kalki Krishna Murthy, will show the young hero in the powerful character of Aditya Karikalan of Chola Dynasty. Actress Anushka Shetty would play his sister and Aarya will be seen enacting the role of his brother.
Vijay and Sathyaraj are donning important roles in the movie whose budget is estimated around Rs.200 Cr. Sun Pictures that produced the all time hit movie ‘Robot’ is producing this high-octane movie.
