Veteran Kollywood actor Vijayakumar, husband of the Telugu heroine of yesteryears Manjula, was today admitted into a private hospital in Chennai as he complained of severe chest pain this afternoon. Doctors put him in ICU for treatment. Vijayakumar also acted in several Telugu movies and was very familiar to Telugu audiences as well.

Vijayakumar is under tremendous pressure for the last few days due to family disputes. On December 29, his daughter Vanitha embarrassed him at the Chennai airport arguing with him in full public view and scolding him without even showing a scant of respect towards her father.
 
Reports indicate that a dispute is going on between Vanitha and her husband over the possession of her son Sri Hari and she reportedly asked her father to hand over her son to her for which Vijayakumar bluntly refused.

During the fierce argument at the airport, airport officials restrained them from indulging in argument. Vijayakumar told the officials that his son-in-law handed over the possession of his grandson to him and she has no right to ask for the boy. “You have no respect towards me. I am not going to give the boy to you and do what ever you like,” he told his daughter reportedly.

After the incident at the airport, Vijayakumar has come under tremendous pressure as his daughter humiliated him in full public view.
