Cheteshwar Pujara, the rising Test batsman has been named as the 'Emerging Cricketer of the Year' at the ICC annual awards declared on Friday. India bagged just two trophies in the ICC award. Michael Clarke, the Australian team's captain bagged the top honours.

The ICC in its statement announced that the Australia captain Michael Clarke was the winner of the Sir Garfield Sobers trophy for ICC Cricketer of the Year as well as the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year. Kumar Sangakkara the Sri Lankan cricketer bagged the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year.

The award was Pujara's first-ever from ICC. He earned the feat of becoming the second fastest Indian to score 1000 runs in Test matches. Twentyfive-year-old Pujara has scored 1310 runs in 15 Tests and has an average of 65.50.
