Well actually I thought I would name this small report as 'Prospects of Team India,' but then I refrained. The reason is that mainly we have no right to speculate when we have not gone out their amidst those horrendous circumstances even to pick the ball. So as a morale policy, I stopped to speculate. Especially just before the ultimate day it is not correct. Hence an analysis of the most expected outcome that came to my thoughts is shared out here for reader enrichment. By all mean I need not be correct and I don not want to be either, so go ahead express your views in the comments box below. We shall positively get back to you.
The ICC T20 World Cup 2012 is played at Sri Lanka from September 18-October 07. the carnival has already begun with warm up matches from the Thursday. And today we Team India will be playing against the host country. The out come is anxiously awaited as our team test the island waters. Well as said earlier, Team India is well confident of bringing home the cup. The team members are Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain), Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Manoj Tiwary, Rohit Sharma, Irfan Pathan, Ravichandran Ashwin, Zaheer Khan, Lakshmipathy Balaji, Piyush Chawla, Harbhajan Singh, Ashok Dinda.
As per the our stats department in the last three T20 World Cups, Team India has played in 37 matches and won 20, claiming the first world cup title in South Africa in 2007. the ultimate final is still ripe in our memories when India beats Pakistan. Of the 37 matches we lost 15. In the remaining two matches one was tied and the other with no result.
Well lets take a quick look at the strengths of Team India, Dhoni, Virat, Ashwin are awesome with their willows, while Ashwin again, with Pathan and Chawla are doing a good job with the new ball.
Regarding the weakness, as such our trouble is with Gambhir and Sehwag being inconsistent. And Rohit Sharma failing miserably with the bat. Zaheer has also to set into rhythm yet.
However the most to be expected is from Yuvraj firing on all his salvos,to celebrate his victory against 'Cancer'. Then Harbhajju must go all out to help the team get home the cup. His form in Sussex must be retained out here, for the nation.
The sad tale is that we shall be missing Sachin Tendulkar on our journey to conquer the T20 World Cup for the second time. But he is out there in the stands to compliment and congratulate Team India's victory, I suppose. That's all for now, but keep watching this space for a ringside analysis of the game by your favorite tweeters. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
