Putting an end to the debate as to who would be paired with whom in the forth coming London Olympics, All India Tennis Association has said that it has decided to pair Leander Paes with Vishnu Vardhan while Mahesh Bhupati and Rohan Bopanna will be another team. AITA is sending two teams to Olympics this time. It is known that Mahesh Bhupati and Rohan Bopanna refused to partner Leander Pace. AITA, in its official statements, has asked Paes to forgive the utterances that were made by Bhupati and Bopanna.
AITA has also called this decision as unfair. Stating that Leander Paes has done yeoman service to the state, AITA hoped that Paes wouldn't disappoint in Olympics. Talking about mixed doubles event in Olympics, AITA President Anil Khanna has said that Sania Mirza would partner Leander Pace in case she gets a wild card entry to Olympics on June 28. Khanna has said that Sania showed interest to partner anyone in London Olympics although her choice was Mahesh Bhupati.
Speaking on disciplinary action against Bhupati and Bopanna, Mr. Khanna said any decision on action would be decided only after the conclusion of London Olympics.
