Westindies dropped nash in second test

Nash Dropped in second test india vs Westindies The decision of dropping the vice captain Brendon Nash from the team shows what all is going Varst in West Indies Cricket Board. Brendan Nash who came to the scene from nowhere in the first test he was named as the vice captain has been lthrown out  from the second test match. Kirk Edwards has been recalled for the second test match who missed the first test match.

The second test match begins on June 28th in Barbados. Another player who will be included in the team is Marlon Samuels who missed the first test as well. Nash came to the test side without any match practice and failed drastically in both the innings. He only scored 1 and 9 runs in the first and second innings respectively. On the other hand, his inclusion was a surprise decision as he has only scored 53 runs in his previous six innings.

The chairman of selectors Clyde Butts stated that “It is clear that Brendan has been struggling for  the form for some time and we want to give him a chance to take some time away from international cricket and work on his game,” The selector also thinks that Brendan is a tough cricketer and will be able to recuperate with his recent low form.

Ian Bishop who is a former West Indian bowler was not surprised with the decision  taken by board of selection and thought that Nash was given one extra chance in the previous match. But he also stated that Nash is a very professional cricketer and he will come back with good practice.

It seems as if West Indies cricket certainly needs Chris Gayle but the board is not at all looking to settle their issues with him. But in the absence of Chris Gayle and now Nash the responsibility lies on the experienced shoulders of Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Ramnaresh Sarwan. Chanderpaul seems to be the only guy who can play on some of the unplayable West Indies pitches but he too is not looking inform. If West Indies have to do well in the remaining 2 test matches then both these players have to bring in their experience and play some memorable innings.

Even MS Dhoni thought that West Indian batting was quite strong and both the teams were evenly matched as India is without some of the their key players. It will be an interesting match and will be great to see how this pitch behaves as the previous one had demons in it.
