Yuvraj scores maiden century
Yuvraj Singh scored his maiden World Cup century (113) as part of India’s victory against West Indies on Sunday and also took two wickets.
West Indies, after being asked by India to field first, finished with 188 losing all the wickets with seven overs left chasing a target of 269.
For West Indies, Ravi Rampaul marked his World Cup debut with a career-best five for 51 including the prized wicket of Sachin Tendulkar.
Everyone thought Tendulkar would make his 100th international century but he was out for just two runs. Rampaul had Tendulkar caught behind off the last ball of his first over but Australian umpire Steve Davis rejected Rampaul’s appeal. Still, gentle as he is, Tendulkar walked away to the pavilion without waiting for a review as he knew he was out.
