The International Astronomical Union (IAU) announced on Tuesday Pluto's fourth as well as fifth moons, discovered in 2011 and 2012, have been named Kerberos and Styx.
Furthermore, the Paris-based organisation mentioned that initially known as P4 and P5, the names were submitted by the astronomers who found them, accompanied by input from the general public in an open contest. In fact, Kerberos is the Greek spelling for the name Cerberus which happens to be a many-headed dog that protected the entrance to the underworld in Greek along with Roman mythology. On the other hand, Styx was the name of the goddess who ruled over an underworld river having the identical name. The Hubble Space Telescope known to have discovered the moons.
