Sony has never entered the high end smartphone segment last year since it never manufactured a quad-core device leaving the battle for Samsung, HTC and LG but realizing late, Sony has its own spark to add to the market with its latest flagship smartphone Xperia Z. This will go on sale in the Indian market starting March 12 and would be available for Rs 38,990.
This 5'' full HD device with an IPS screen is capable of 1920x1080 resolution, as crisp as a mobile device can get. A quad core processor, 2GB of RAM, Time Scape UI benefits are noticeable. The rear snapper 13MP is a brilliant addition. The specialty is that the phone is dust resistant and water resistant too. This NFC capable device weighs just 149 grams making it special. A dedicated camera button and the highly stylized power button are attractive on the shiny body.
Another variant of the same phone has also been released, Sony Xperia ZL. Technically hardware wise the phone is essentially the same without the dust and water resistant features. It has a matte finish and is slighly smaller than the flagship model. This is available for a price of Rs 35,990.
