Canon's mirrorless camera soon in market

Canon Inc on Monday revealed that it would enter the mirrorless market soon starting the mid-September. Canon probably has realized the rapidly growing market of the cameras that were introduced by Samsung, Sony and its primary rival Nikon which had recently entered the market.
Canon has said that it would manufacture 1,00,000 cameras every month.

These mirrorless cameras are in a way a hybrid of the compact digital cameras of the high end and the low end DSLRs. They have the compact features, yet the large sensors for a great quality pictures. They also have the facility of interchangeable lenses that gives you more versatility. However, there would be no optical viewfinders. The cameras are small and light.

Japan has embraced the mirrorless cameras to a great extent so much so that over 33% of the cameras that are now sold belong to this segment. US camera market has also embraced them pretty well making up to 1/10th of the sales.

Canon has entered the market with a view to target the rival from Nikon which is also its prime opponent in the DSLR section.
Shares of Canon went down by 3 per cent and those of Nikon by 2.6 percent on Monday afternoon which lowered the Tokyo's Topix index by 0.9 per cent.
