From figs of imagination and theoretical studies now the God's particle could be reality as per the scientists who claim the issue at the European Organisation for Nuclear Research in Meyrin near Geneva on Wednesday. Thanks to the profound efforts of the European Centre for Nuclear Research (CERN) the imagination turns a reality.
Amidst thunderous applause from all around Rolf Heuer, director of CERN unveiled the details to the scientists. He said, “We have now found the missing cornerstone of particle physics. As a layman, I think we did it. We have a discovery. We have observed a new particle that is consistent with a Higgs boson.”
The God's particle or the Higgs boson is a convention delivered by a British theoretical physicist Peter Higgs in 1969, after whom it has been named. According to the theory put forth by the physicist `it is believed to be the last missing piece to the puzzle of the so-called Standard Model. The twenty fundamental forces and particles that, in various permutations and combinations, account for everything around us like light, magnetism, gravity and all forms of matter.'
CERN’s atom smasher, the $10 billion Large Hadron Collider on the Swiss-French border, has been creating high-energy collisions of protons to investigate dark matter, anti-matter and the creation of the universe, which many theorise occurred in a massive explosion known as the Big Bang.
