Dan Loeb, founder and Chief executive of Third Point alleged that Thomson made false claims of possessing a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and computer science from Stonehill College near Boston, according to Huffington Post. He also added that Thomson only possessed a degree in accounting. Dan had sent a letter to the Yahoo Board of Directors in this regards. However lukewarm response from the Tech Giant on such a serious issue irked Third Point. In a statement on Friday, Third Point said, “To assert that years of inaccurate SEC filings, website biographies and (more)… were `inadvertent’ is, in our view, the height of arrogance.

Though Yahoo was quick enough to remove the controversial matter from the CEO’s official bio, it is much reluctant to move ahead beyond this point. In its official website the Tech Giant has stated,’ in no way alters that fact that Mr Thomson is a highly qualified executive with a successful track record leading large consumer technology companies.’ Adding on Thursday that a probe is being made and shall `make an appropriate disclosure to shareholders’ once completed. However Third Point had a long history of launching proxy allegations and Yahoo is the latest victim. (With Inputs from Internet- Aarkay)
