Imagine a hoarding with all its glamorous décor shuns its show looking at one’s face, is disgusting in a way. But none would stop to amuse at the advancement of technology.
The charity Plan UK proposes to have an electronic hoarding placed at a bus stop in London’s Oxford Street this week. There is nothing special about this, as we come across scores of such events in our daily life. But the difference is that this special hoarding which is for a charity promoting female education worldwide will only show case the ad for women and men will be directed to its website for more details. Sounds strange but the hoarding has an intelligent sensor which reads the face of the onlooker and only if it is a woman, the full 40 second ad is displayed.
A spokesman for the charity, Plan UK, said: ‘We’re not giving men the choice to see the full ad – so they get a glimpse of what it’s like to have basic choices taken away.’ Well there are huge controversies that have engulfed over the ad. But the best thing is the advancement of the technology that has to be appreciated. Experts believe that this would pave way for more and better advertising. (With inputs from internet: AarKay)
