Red wine to increase life span: scientists

Scientists have come out with discovery for prolonged life. They claim that an ingredient in red wine can increase the life span.

Resveratrol-is the ingredient that would act as an anti ageing element that will not only make an individual look young but will also increases the life time. According to their study, taking red wine regularly will fight cancer, heart diseases and even obesity.

The experiments were conducted on a mice and they turned out to be successful. But there are also arguments that Resveratrol works only if there’s a gene called SIRT 1 and scientists are quite apprehensive about this as no one knows whether a human body has this SIRT 1 gene or not.

On the other hand, scientists from United States came out with claims that they have produced a drug that’s equivalent to 8000 bottles of red wine. They said they discovered that their drug was helpful in boosting mitochondria-which is cell’s energy supplier.  When mitochondria is boosted, a person’s over all health and longevity increases, say scientists.

All in all, it looks like the demand for red wine and the cost will increase soon as every other person wants to appear good and live long. (Phani)
