Prime Minister Narendra Modi dismissed the charges of splitting Maharashtra state and separating Mumbai from the state. Modi who is campaigning in Maharashtra for the upcoming Assembly elections said as long as he is in power, he won't divide Maharashtra.
“I assure you that as long as I am in Delhi, no power in the world can split Maharashtra and also separate Mumbai from Maharashtra,” said Modi at an election rally. The Prime Minister said Maharashtra is the state that has the capability to drive India's growth and Mumbai is central to that.
