A day after Scotland's referendum on independence, Kashmiri leaders have pitched their voice high for a referendum on the state. All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said Scotland’s referendum is an example of what Kashmiris' are demanding over the last six decades.
“We hope India will also change its approach and realise the fact that people’s rights can’t be trampled upon,” Farooq said. Kashmir has been divided between India and Pakistan since a war after independence from Britain in 1947.
