Major Terrorist Attack Averted in Jammu and Kashmir:- In a major development, the cops defused an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) that weighed 15 kgs in the district of Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir averting a major terrorist attack. A cylinder shaped IED with 300-400 grams of RDX and seven 7.62 mm catridges along with five detonators have been recovered in the region of Basantgarh region on Monday. The IED was completely defused on Tuesday and the cops averted a major terrorist attack. The investigation about the same is currently going on.
The cops also recovered a letter pad page and a coded sheet of the banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. A suspect has been detained and he is currently being investigated. A case has been registered in Basantgarh police station and the investigation is currently underway. The cops are conducting raids and searches based on the primary information gathered. Several attacks are planned in Jammu and Kashmir as per the intelligence reports. After the recent tiff at the India and China border, the Centre has been serious about the border issues and terror attacks.
