The Press Council of India has ordered for a probe on Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao's remarks on media in Warangal earlier this week. Press Council chairman Markandey Katju directed a three member committee to probe the issue and submit a detailed report within 15 days.

TV9 and ABN Andhra Jyothy news channels were banned in Telangana state and journalists of the respective channels protested at KCR's Warangal tour. Fumed by the protest, KCR said he would bury alive the media and break their necks if they cross the line of limit. Press Council and many politicians have condemned these comments.
