Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has sent a box of choicest Pakistani mangoes mostly Sindhri and Chausa to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an attempt to do the damage control. This gesture from Sharif came days India has dropped the foreign secretary-level dialogue in response to the violation of cease fire in Kashmir. The mangoes were delivered to Modi on Wednesday evening through the official channel.
Apart from Modi, Sharif sent mangoes also to President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari and foreign minister Sushma Swaraj. According to the sources, Pakistan is making efforts to discuss key issues troubling both the nations and is looking forward to a Sharif-Modi meet later this month in New York on the sidelines of UNGA.
